The boxes come
with screws and a fixing bracket to attach to a wall or tree. The box
should be located in a shady place away from prevailing winds, and be
at least two metres from the ground. Avoid places that might let a cat
or squirrel get on the box. Ideally put your box up in mid January as
blue tits will start looking for sites from then, and nesting can carry
on through till August. At the end of the season, having checked the box
to see if anyone Is still using it, clean out the box and store till next
year. It is not unusual for any box not to be used in the first year so
do not be discouraged they will come. For more useful information on birdboxes
